My first impression of Quicken loans was good. David Swimmer is an awesome person and a great mortgage broker. I have no problems with him. The rest of the people I dealt with on my loan were terrible. They did not give me accurate information and postponed the move in process by dragging there feet. I do not feel that Quicken loans did a good overall job on the application process. I feel that the title company that I worked with was even worse. They told me that I could close on a certain day and then told me that realistically I would not close until I move into the house 5 days later. It was a terrible experience having to be in a hotel with my family for 5 days and having to pay extra expenses on the hotel and on the moving truck. I would reccomend David Swimmer to anyone buying a home. I do not necessarily feel the same way about Quicken loans and would never use the title company ever again. They were horrible. I am happy to be in my house but I think I would have went through less frustration going through some other company even if I had to pay more money.
Editor’s note: On behalf of Quicken Loans, I would like to apologize for the inconvenience you experienced in your closing process. From our records, your loan closed in four weeks, which is pretty much on the quicker end of average for how long the process usually takes. I do understand that other mishaps happened along the way to delay the loan process some, which is unfortunate. We apologize for the incident with your family staying in the hotel room and we hope that you were satisfied when Quicken Loans subsidized the expenses you incurred. Here’s what happened: Since Oregon is a recordable state the keys to your home are not given until the mortgage is actually recorded. From our records you closed on Friday and the loan was not recorded until the following Wednesday which is why you were not able to enter your home until then. We understand that there could have been miscommunication on this issue and this has since been corrected for future clients. Again, we apologize for any mishap on our part and if you have any more questions or concerns please feel free to email us at Kelly@quickenloans.com, or call at (800) 863-4332. We hope you consider Quicken Loans again in the future for your mortgage needs.
