Working with Rick Diaz was great! I had previously worked with another lender and was totally dissatisfied with the whole experience. They were slow to respond and wouldn't return calls. The other lender used an appraiser that was totally incompetent. They put the wrong number of bathrooms in the home and used comparable homes outside the school district. I challenged the appraisal value but the broker did nothing to help. They actually tried to strongarm me into going through with the loan even though I was going to have to come up with a substantial amount of cash at closing. I eventually called off the closing and forfeited my "upfront fee". I was sure of my home value but needed someone to go the extra mile to make the refinance work. I told Rick about my first experience with the other lender and he understood my frustration at the process. Something about his attitude allowed me to trust him so I took the chance and went with Quicken Loans. He actually made you feel like the customer came first....go figure! He made sure all my questions were answered throughout the entire refinance process. Rick made sure he was available after hours and on the weekends which really made the whole process go smoothly. He kept me informed and followed through until the final closing. Working with Rick changed my opinion of how a mortgage broker should be. The appraisal came back too low again but this time Rick had another appraiser come out and did a great job at documenting the upgrades we had done in our home. The value came in at an amount higher than necessary and we were able to refinance our home! Great job Rick!
